Experience all the joys of Christmas through seasonal sights, scents, and sounds within the festive, tastefully decorated Alcott home during our Annual Holiday Living History Program.

Visit with the Alcotts, their notable neighbors, and faithful friends while they prepare for holiday celebrations. Enjoy interacting with Living History portrayers as they share Alcott traditions, and savor the cozy, fun-loving ambiance of the household from days gone by.

This year, our special focus will be the many ways in which the writings of Charles Dickens influenced the family life of the Alcotts as well as the literary and theatrical pursuits of Louisa May Alcott.

Music and singing, theatricals and tableaux, along with take-home activities and mementos are all part of this heartwarming experience

~ Reservations are strongly urged as “walk-in" availability is extremely limited ~

Although tickets for "A Dickensian Christmas" are non-refundable, they can be re-booked to a future date. In the event that inclement weather forces closure of Orchard House, ticketholders will be contacted to make alternate arrangements.

Please be aware that during Holiday Program weekends, our regular guided tour format will not be offered and information typically presented during guided tours will not be conveyed. Orchard House will be festively decorated from December 1, 2026 through January 10, 2027. Guided tours on non-program dates in December can be reserved using our regular Timed-Entry Admission site.

Please note: The Holiday Program ticketing website closes each morning at 6:00 am. Therefore, same-day reservations cannot be made online, over the phone, or via email. We do our best to accommodate "walk-in" visitors, but the popularity of our program may not allow many additional tickets to be available.
